Driving home from Glacier
After Sherburne Lake, the first thing you drive through when you leave Glacier to the east is the Blackfoot Reservation, where there's a whole lot of high plains, more spectacular mountain views, and not much else. Being from Oakland, California, we stopped at Oakland, Oregon, just to see what it looked like. We also dropped in on the ghost town of Golden, and stopped for lunch in Weed, California.

on February 14, 2010Yes, they're quite amazing. And with just an ordinary SLR and no way to get a high view, you can't even see the whole thing in any one photo. From a kayaker's point of view, nasty. Just the sound of all that water going by is stunning.
